The Village at York University is one of the last major new-home developments within the City of Toronto including condos, townhomes and semi/detached buildings. First residents moved into the first phase of approximately 550 homes in the summer of 2005.
The Village, though no longer on university-owned land, is considered part of the broader university area.
This neighbourhood is home to an extremely diverse population. Italian, Chinese, Jamaican, Southeast Asian and East Indian peoples are very common here. Along with students from every corner of Canada and the world make this a very lively neighbourhood.
