Willowdale

Regular price $45.00 Sale

Willowdale was first settled by James Cummer, who immigrated to Canada from the United States in 1797. Cummer was a mill owner, a proprietor of a tinsmith shop on Yonge Street and a self-trained doctor and veterinarian. Talk about jack of all trades.

Willowdale is an ethnically diverse community, with 66% of all Willowdale residents being immigrants. This includes a large population of Chineese, Korean and Iranian peoples.

While most homes here were built in-between 1910 and 1960, this is the neighbourhood that the term "monster homes" were first applied by Torontonians.
